Searchable browser printing is the primary output
The same rendered text and links shown in the preview are isolated for browser printing. Chromium normally keeps them searchable and selectable when you choose Save as PDF, while the browser remains the final authority for page breaks, scale, backgrounds, and saving.
Not Microsoft Word or Office
The default mode uses a pinned browser HTML renderer and makes no Office-parity claim. Deployments with the optional runtime configured can add a separately consented, SHA-256-pinned high-fidelity office conversion mode; neither mode uses a remote conversion server.
Honest image-only fallback
Direct download rasterizes each preview page. That PDF loses searchable/selectable text, links, semantics, and accessibility, so it stays secondary to browser printing.
Common structures, browser-dependent pages
Paragraphs, headings, character styles, lists, tables, embedded images, links, explicit page breaks, headers, footers, footnotes, and endnotes render where supported. Final pagination and font metrics can differ by browser and locally available fonts.
Known unsupported Office content
Macros, OLE and embedded objects, SmartArt, complex charts and shapes, uncommon fonts, tracked changes, advanced fields, and exact section layout may be omitted or differ. Remote document resources and fonts are blocked rather than fetched.
