Authorized known-password use
Password removal is not password cracking.
You must provide a password that already opens the PDF. PdfEditorOnlineFree does not crack, guess, recover, or bypass unknown passwords, and it cannot help recover a password you have lost.
Owner and permission restrictions are different
A PDF may open without a password while limiting printing, copying, or editing through owner or permission restrictions. Remove Password identifies that case and directs authorized users to the separate Unlock Restrictions tool instead.
Opens without a password
A fresh validation pass reopens the new copy without a credential and requires the encryption dictionary to report an unprotected document before download is enabled.
Preservation checks before download
PdfEditorOnlineFree checks the PDF signature, structure, and page count. Rewriting can normalize internal object order or file size, but a failed structure or page-count check blocks the output.
Clear failure states
Correct the problem without selecting the file again.
Missing or incorrect password
The selected PDF stays available while you enter or correct the known password, cancel, or retry the local operation.
Unsupported encryption or malformed PDF
The tool separates unsupported protection from damaged PDF structure and never offers an unverified download.
Re-encrypt when protection is still needed
The new copy is intentionally unprotected. Use Encrypt PDF afterward if you still need AES-256 password protection or viewer permissions.
