Compress PDF images without flattening native text.

Reduce a PDF on this device by analyzing size contributors, safely downsampling eligible oversized images, and applying lossless structural cleanup. You can preview quality and download a validated smaller PDF only when the result passes checks. Exact target sizes are best effort, and unsupported image encodings or already-efficient documents may remain unchanged or become only slightly smaller.

One PDF up to 100 MB and 300 pages. Images, pages, memory, and output are bounded before decoding.

Compression stays on this device

PDF bytes, image pixels, previews, candidate outputs, structural cleanup, reopening checks, and reports remain on this device. Optional components are downloaded only when needed. Review their licenses on the open-source licenses page.

Structural saving and real image reduction are different.

Opening and saving an image-heavy PDF is not meaningful compression. PdfEditorOnlineFree analyzes page content, downsamples eligible high-DPI images, JPEG-encodes only those replacements, then uses a structural cleanup pass before validating the smaller result.

Analyze before changing

See native text, page content, image sizes, effective DPI, safe candidates, and reasons for skipped images.

Recompress real images

Supported oversized images can be downsampled and recompressed instead of merely re-saving the document.

Preserve native content

Text, vectors, page geometry, and non-image objects remain native. Whole-page rasterization is never used as a hidden fallback.

Choose the tradeoff

Use Light, Medium, Heavy, custom DPI/quality, or a bounded best-effort target-size sequence.

Bound risky decoding

Files, pages, objects, images, decoded pixels, active memory, attempts, time, and output bytes have hard limits.

Validate before download

Structural checks and a fresh reopen verify pages, text, objects, images, geometry, and a representative quality preview.

Unsupported images remain unchanged and visible in the report.

Unsupported image types, transparent or masked images, unusual colour profiles, nested images, unsafe dimensions, and decompression-bomb risks are skipped rather than flattened. Pages that do not improve are listed explicitly.

Exact target sizes are best effort. If a target cannot be met safely, the tool returns the smallest validated result and says the target was not met. Password-protected files should first be opened with the authorized Remove Password tool.
